Kōsen - Tampa: Reviews & Ratings
Such an incredible dining experience. Kosen is a work of art, and I am so thrilled to have this caliber of a restaurant in my backyard. This was the best fish I have ever had. My husband and I struggled to land on a favorite dish because it was that hard to choose because every dish was just phenomenal.
Exceptional place! Made for a very special omakase experience. The drink pairings and service was on point, everything we tasted was top notch. The Michelin Star is very well deserved.
It is our first time here. We always travel around for Omakase with Michelle Star and we are glad that we stop by Kosen tonight. The experience was phenomenal. Chef Andrew and his team worked beautifully together. We enjoyed watching Chef Andrew’s hands, his work was so beautiful to watch. Every dish was carefully serving. Truly enjoyed and appreciate it. Thank you so much for everything Kosen serving. Totally worth it and definitely come back again.
Kosen was good—excellent for the region—but it didn’t reach the heights I’d hoped for. The progression felt somewhat monotonous overall, with one true standout: the Chawanmushi. It hit like a jolt of life amid restraint—an east-meets-west custard layered with deep umami and confidence. Unassuming in presentation, but undeniably the highlight. A minor point: in omakase, the handoff is crucial. Having the chef pass the dish to a server who then places it back in front of me breaks that quiet connection that makes omakase special. That said, the service was attentive; they noticed I was left-handed before the appetizers were even served—a subtle but appreciated touch.
10/10 Wife and I cannot wait to come back. Expectations were exceeded. Wait staff was amazing. Kitchen was incredible. Highly recommend this spot for any special occasion. Thank you to Kyle, Miles, Mike, Deanne and Chef Alex. Anniversary dinner was a great success.
We recently visited and tried the omakase and had an amazing experience! The chef and staff were fantastic- friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish beautifully prepared and full of flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
I've been to few omakase restaurants in NY and this easily is one of the best I've been to. Chef was engaging and food was amazing. A must!
Amazing omikase experience and wine/sake pairing. Each dish tasted even better than the one before. Chef Andrew is so humble and doesn’t take himself too seriously. It was a joy to see him plate and make the nigiri. Highly recommend. My husband and I do a lot of tasting menus and this one is my new favorite. You know it’s good when you love every dish you tried and leave satisfied but not overfilled.
